Daily Update from Mrs Rudd 11/9/20
Morning Parents/ Carers,
We have had a few questions this week concerning children moving around school.
It’s complicated but I will try and explain;
We keep the children in a class bubble as much as possible this means other children do not come into the classroom, staff stay the same as much as possible and parents stay at the door.
We move round schools in zones. This means that 2 year groups may be in the same area but these areas are well ventilated and large such as the canteen or the playground.
In the canteen tables are wiped after a child has sat there and cleaned down thoroughly as the zone changes over.
Staff and children do not cross zones unless it is absolutely necessary.
Parents are asked to wear a face mask when speaking directly to another person such as speaking to the class teacher or Lisa and Kath at the office.
If parents maintain 2 metres around school grounds as they are not making skin to skin contact or being in the close company of other parents for more than 15 minutes the risk of spreading Covid is low.
We have hand sanitiser and cleaning products at every entrance and in every classroom.
Our children wash their hands throughout the day. They can wear a face mask if they wish and we also use Perspex screens in some areas of school.
The swab tests taken by the cleaning company show that there are very low levels of virus / bacteria but even so the cleaners do a thorough clean down every night.
So that we are not in the same situation as last Monday. If you have had to take your child for a Covid test or you yourself have received a positive result. Please send me an email over the weekend head@newallgreen.manchester.sch.uk so that I can inform parents very early on Monday morning if they need to keep their child at home. This would really help our working parents.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
Thanks again for all your support.
